Las Vegas wow – Jaleo by José Andres (Cosmopolitan)

Happy summer day great foodie friends!
Jaleo by Jose’ Andres
Is a must try in Vegas!
One criteria I am sure that we all must think about when we eat out is…

let’s try something we couldn’t or wouldn’t make at home

Jaleo gives you just that!
From the moment that you walk in you will smell (almost taste the flavors) in this great tapas restaurant

It has a hip but comfortable atmosphere in the ever posh Cosmopolitan Hotel.
Let your waiter/waitress take you into the world of Spain with the flavors to match.
The menu is vast and full of flavors to wow the taste buds.

Ask the waiter/waitress for some recommendations and trust their guidance. They are friendly and helpful (as is everyone we met in the restaurant) and are versed in what the menu holds as well as what the popular dishes are.
Every dish presented a new flavor journey and seemed to ramp up or get better as the night went on.

20120801-010052.jpg first was a selection of cheese and meats…..
Then came some olives as well as gastronomic magic in what looked like an olive but was some gastronomy.mmmm

Then came the chicken croquets

And the ham croquets……
The dishes kept coming and continued to please the taste buds.
Make sure that you try the Veal cheeks as it will make your mouth water and your taste buds sing!

It is served with velvet whipped potato and olive oil and morel mushroom.
If you get a chance and the timing is right try the Paella, a traditional Spanish dish. There are a few different versions and your helpful server will guide you based on your tastes.

Lastly if you are lucky enough to leave room for some sweets or another glass of sangria….

Happy Tuesday all…..
Wether your a kid or a “big kid” you will want to try the still fairly new Sugar Factory Restaurant located in the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.
Below is an excerpt from their website…more comments follow from me!

Sugar Factory American Brasserie takes guests on a breathtaking, visually-inspiring journey from beginning to end. Our 30,000 square-foot space in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip offers one-of-a-kind culinary experiences in our expansive dining room, flagship Sugar Factory retail store, decadent Chocolate Lounge and more as it serves up delicious cuisine and desserts to patrons 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The mouthwatering menu at Sugar Factory American Brasserie has been handcrafted by a team of world-class chefs, including Executive Chef Michael Sellmann and Chef and Restaurateur Bryan Ogden, and features perfectly executed classics such as pizzas, burgers, pastas, salads, steaks, seafood, sandwiches and more. Breakfast options are served all day including fluffy waffles, omelets, crepes and specialty egg dishes. Sugar Factory American Brasserie also has an over-the-top dessert menu featuring classic sweet treats and signature selections.

The Chocolate Lounge, a crown jewel in the colossal compound, acts as an intimate alcove set to deliver the ultimate experience to both novice and veteran chocolate connoisseurs with a vast selection of chocolate fondue options, accompanied by wine, champagne and liquor pairings.

Sugar Factory American Brasserie serves up decadent, indulgent and tasty fare that is sure to fill every belly and fulfill any sweet tooth. Spend an evening at the Las Vegas Strip’s sweetest spot – it promises to be an unforgettable culinary delight.

First let me say that this isn’t one of the “fad” restaurants resting on the laurels of its name with so so food….. This is a wonderment of great foods, great deserts and an awesome Chocolate Lounge with delectable adult treats including some wow Chocolate libations…….
After you are done with dinner and dare tell some sweet treats you can also take a stroll through the candy store and see some unique spins on candy treats with some added bling and celebrity play ups……
If you are lucky you are very apt to run into a celebrity enjoying the same treats that you are!
Try this out for Breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner or if you must simply must just have A wow dessert

Going to Las Vegas

Traveling to Las Vegas and wonder where to eat?
Loaded question I know but sky’s the absolute limit! Your choices are abound and really no matter what you do you could not get to all of the foodie treasures that Las Vegas has to offers!

One posting can’t even start to lay it out easily and accurately so let this be the beginning on a new Vegas eatery section on my new blog.

Coming out will be recommendations or the following sections and as all good restaurants grow, expand and delight at different times…..always check back for updates and new postings.

First listing for a great dinner with your sweetheart or business friends will fall to one of my favorites for a few reasons:

Mon Ami Gabi

3655 Las Vegas Blvd. South
Las Vegas, NV 89109

Located in the Paris Hotel right on the strip. Book before and then when you get in line let them know that you would like to sit on the patio. Think of this as a whole experience and enjoy the perfect view of the Bellagio water show while your taste buds blossom to the tastes of the classic French bistros offerings. Did I mention the bonus of people watching! Truly the best entertainment between the water show and the unique and wonderful characters that grace the streets of this vibrant city.
They have a nice wine menu and a very tasty food offering for many different tastes..

Check back for updates regularly for new gems for any occasion.
