About

Hi all, I am excited to share my new food blog with you all. Check back daily to see what new updates I will bring…. I am a father, husband, coach, friend and volunteer, amateur but accomplished cook that wants to share my passion and excitement in cooking, eating and the wonderment of how wonderful food from the heart and soul connect us all!

Did I mention that I like to travel, well I do… Foods from around the world expand the world of flavors and taste… My cooking and search for new heights in flavors and heartwarming dishes and drinks also fuels my excitement and passion… Italy, not enough words to explain even the most basic of wow flavors in even the simplest foods… Greek, French, Mediterranean ? Asian of any kind….. Mouth watering flavors and infusions…. Now we’re talking!

Enjoy…… Tell me what you want hear about and ask me any tips or thoughts on new places to try or let me know what you love and I will try it!

  1. Thanks! I just approved your blog claim. Now your Urbanspoon profile picture is displayed on your blog page. You can upload a blog-specific photo if you prefer, and can change a few other blog settings there. Also, if you vote for a restaurant that you’ve reviewed on your blog, we now show your vote next to your post everywhere on our site.

    Hi,

I’ve added a new feature so you can publish your blog posts on Urbanspoon yourself without having to wait for us to do it! Here’s how:

    – Make sure you’re signed into Urbanspoon.
    – Go to your Urbanspoon blog page (not your user profile): https://www.urbanspoon.com/br/14/9257/Vancouver/bcfoodieblogger.html
    – Click “Edit blog settings”.
    – In the Pending Posts section, click “Edit and publish my pending posts”.
    – Then, enter the “snippet” text, verify the date and URL, and press Publish.

    Please make sure that:
    – The URL should be the permalink to the blog post (not the blog home page, a post preview, or a service like feedproxy).
    – The snippet should be 2-3 sentences (quoted from your blog post) that gives an idea of what’s in the post.
    – The snippet should NOT include bylines, dates, address info, captions, tags, HTML code, etc.

Note: there may be a delay of 1-2 hours after you post on your blog until our system detects the post.

We’ll give you one week to do it yourself, then it’ll go into our queue to publish.

Thank you for all of your contributions, and let me know if you have any questions.

    Greg

  3. Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I
could add to my blog that automatically tweet
my newest twitter updates. I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this
for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this.
Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly
enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.

  4. Great to see your site and learn about you – can you please edit your page so that PR firms like mine know your NAME? Unless I am not seeing it, I cannot find WHO you are or where you are from anywhere on your site. Thank you. 🙂

  5. Hello!

    I hope you’re having a fantastic week!

I wanted to quickly introduce myself, as I am the Community Manager for Zomato Vancouver. We recently announced some pretty big news and want to keep you informed!

UrbanSpoon is now a part of Zomato, one of the world’s largest restaurant search and discovery services. We wanted to personally reach out to you – the most active Urbanspoon users – to thank you for the amazing role you have played in bringing Urbanspoon to where it is today!

Over the next couple of months, our teams will be working closely together to ensure a smooth transition from Urbanspoon to Zomato and we will continue to share new updates with you. There will be tons of exciting new features that you can look forward to!

We could grab a coffee sometime, I’d love to get to know you and discuss the transition and answer any questions you might have 🙂

Please let me know if you have some free time to get together! I am available to contact through email! sophia.rizos[at]zomato.com

Looking forward to hearing from you 🙂

  6. Hi,

My name is Alex Chieng and I am in the final stages in development for my foodie mobile application which will be released on the iOS platform by the end of this month. Our goal is to create a fun and interactive platform for users to post high quality photos of their culinary adventures, embark on new adventures, and most importantly, be rewarded tangibly!

I would love to share more about our idea in person and I am very eager to receive some initial feedback/impressions from food bloggers on how I can improve on our current product/idea before releasing it to the public.

By doing so, we can offer you exclusive deals on our app and of course, expand our foodie network!

I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Best,

    Alex Chieng
