Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria


A new pizzeria opened last week that you must try!
Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria……

From the minute you enter you will be greeted by a friendly and excited staff..
It a great atmosphere and easy to relax and enjoy a little taste of authentic “Neapolitan style” pizza
Go try it and sit down and soak in the casual but caring atmosphere…..
Order as simple as you want your pizza or add your own fun.. Once it’s ordered, it’s topped and put in the Pizza oven (made of stone) and a cool 900 degrees for approx 90 seconds of pizza magic!

Did I mention that they import all of their tomatoes ( from the Campania region) and the flour from Southern Italy
They also use Fior-di-latte fresh mozzarella, pecorino Romano cheese and fresh basil on every pizza…. It does make a difference that you can taste.
Go and see Justin, Jason and Christian and their great staff for a great warm hearted taste of Italian magic and some warm smiles.

Back with one more delectable shopping experience. Another must try shopping experience for the taste buds….
The Gourmet Warehouse!

Set enough time aside to wander the magical aisles of specialty and quality ingredients for no matter what dish you are planning.
You can literally plan your special meal or desert and find everything (utensils and pans etc….) and all ingredients of the best quality to make that next “Wow” dish.
Caren McSherry and her team have created a world of YUM full of everything you need to cook, create and present any dish in your arsenal. If you want they also post Gourmet Warehouse recipes lovingly made by Caren herself or friends and chef friends that Caren works with.
Cooking lessons? Yes they do! Check out their website for the regular postings of events to come.

Caren just put on the first “Cacao Barry Callebaut 2012 Chocolate challenge” that was a booming success for many reasons…. See below a copy of Rob Feenies blog on the wonderful and caring event.

Last week I had the honour of being a judge at the 1st Annual Gourmet Warehouse, Cacao Barry and Callebaut Chocolate Challenge 2012 put on by my good friend Caren McSherry and hosted by Jill Krop of Global TV – who is such fun. I along with my co-judges, Thomas Haas and Greg Hook, had the privilege of tasting some truly wonderful desserts. It was a spectacular evening and in the end, Lauren Arsenault took the grand prize with her delicious Chocolate Rooibos Mousse with Orange Marmalade and Cookie Crumb. Check out some of the pictures from this great event which raised funds for the Strathcona Community Centre Back-Pack Program, which helps provide nutritious food for children and their families and bridge the weekend gaps when school food programs are not running. Giving back to the community is a big commitment for Cactus Club Cafe and something I feel privileged to support.

I can’t say enough great things about this store…. Look for the pizza shells for a quick and quality option for a snack along with any of their wonderful sauce options.
Then head over to the baking section and look for the best chocolate or cocoa for your baking…..
Really I can’t even write everything that you could discover….
What these stores are teaching us? Dot be afraid to step out of your cooking comfort zone….. Try new flavors, experiment with new ingredients and enjoy what the culinary world has to share.
One bonus that you may find while you are exploring… Many chefs from the countless great restaurants in town may be scouring the same shelves as you as they count on some of the great things that Carens store is known to bring in.

The staff is always there to answer all questions and are qualified to teach you about “which one?”. The one thing you will notice, the selection is over the top in a good way.
When you finish looking at all there is to see… Time for a snack or a coffee! Head to the coffee/panini bar and try a grilled panini with your favorite coffee….

If you are lucky on the right day you may see signs for a cooking event or any food suppliers to Bosa showing their products…..
This is a store that really has to be seen and experienced to take it all in.

Hi All,

Game day menu for Sundays playoff game


Here we go….
Opening taster:
Crostini with pesto garlic dollop topped with a mixture of cherry tomatoes mixed with shallots, red wine vinegar, sea-salt, pepper and Italian seasoning and mini pearl bocconcini. Drizzled with reduced balsamic.

Mini stuffed sliders perfectly seasoned and stuffed with red onion, cheese, garlic and the center with hidden prosciutto wrapped mini bocconcini.

Special secret sweet heat ancho chili chicken wings served with extra homemade special dip, fresh celery, cucumber and mini carrots.

A great spot for a quiet dinner with te sweetheart or great friends. Business lunch or dinner? Absolutely.
Great food, great atmosphere and great service…. The GM (Albert Chee) has taken care of us on several occasions making us feel special on our anniversary or saving the perfect table for us to come back and watch the game. Roaming Dragon- Vancouver Streetfood


Do yourself a favor, as I mentioned on my last post about vancouver street food….. Go and try Roaming Dragon on this beautiful sunny Vancouver day.
Go and see Evan and the crew and try some flavors that will rock your mouth beyond belief.

On today’s menu was Chinese pork sliders and Fried rice balls – Chinese sausage, shrimp, chicken, bamboo shoots, Japanese rice, curry and teriyaki….. Need I say more?
Wow flavours for sure and great staff served with a smile and they want to know good or bad your experience!
Roamingdragonalicious!!! Gotta have it!
Oh yes……did I mention that they now have a “Roaming Dragonized” poutine? They do…. Purists come out and try a new twist.

Best part…. Ocean wise seafood only, local hormone free beef and chicken.
A must try… Please also let me know your thoughts as I really want to know and so does Roaming dragon!
